kings x would probably be my number 16 honestly. it is way better that the last couple records.

Malmstorm!- 01-19-2006
I adore that album. MUCH better than their last few. Actually, the best one since "Ear Candy", in my opinion.

Totally dig the TNT record too. Good choice.

I can never have JUST a "best of..." list.

BEST NEW CDS OF 2005-

King's X - "Ogre Tones"- the last three cds have been crap, thanks god they did this!

Primordial - "Gathering Wilderness" - I'm really glad he doesn't do the black metal vocals anymore.

Akercocke - "Words that..." proggy, but not "Dream theater"

Enslaved - "Isa" (because Below the lights wasn't released in 2005)

Callisto - "true nature unfolds" - this is the best band out of those Isis, Neurosis, Cult of luna type bands.

FORESHADOWING THIS TO BE GREAT CD FROM 2005, BUT I SHOULD GET IT ON FRIDAY IN THE MAIL-

The Ocean- "Aeolian"

NEW TO ME IN 2005 (I must have been living in a cave)

Voivod - "Killing Tecnology"- I know, I love voivod, but I never payed attention to this cd, but I bought it a couple months ago and love it. ps I did have it on Cassette and record, but never listened much.

Enslaved- ALL their CDS(see above)

Mindrot(esp Forlorn)
Morgion(esp Soliari)

BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT OF 2005
Confessor= "Unraveled" - this is not as bad as Abigail 2, but...OH MY GOD!!!!

BAND YOU'D LIKE TO SEE WITH A PREVIOUS LINE-UP TOGETHER AGAIN WITH A NEW CD!-
The 3rd and the Mortal- with Anne Marie singing again.
Thought Industry - the "Mods Carve the pig..." line-up!

Awesome Book series-
The Complete fiction of William Hope Hodgson by Nightshade books, it's a five volume set, four have come out. He's one of the guys who influenced H.P. Lovecraft. He does a lot of Nautical fiction in a Lovecraft type of way. Some novel titles are - "The Boats of Glen Carrig"(awesome!), "House on the borderland" , "Nightland", ect.

Looking forward to in 2006 -
Univers Zero -"Live" comes out Feb 7th

Can anyone tell me if Dark Suns "Existence" is worth buying?

Dave

I can never do a top 10 in any given year. Most of my purchases year in and year out are of albums released at least a year before the one I'm in.

It was a tough year to come up with a top 15. There were a lot of albums I didn't get to listen to till the end of the year. Man I miss being able to spend all day listening to someonelses cds. Placing them in order was tougher than coming up with 15.

2 Kretor - Enemy Of God
3 Exodus - Shoelhead Kill Machine
4 Ram-Zet - Intra
5 Leaves Eyes - Vinland Saga
6 Arcturus - Sideshow Symphonies
7 Tristania - Ashes
8 Nevermore - Godless Endevour
9 Candlemass - Candlemass
10 Hypocrisy - Virus
11 Green Carnation - Quiet Offspring
12 The Old Dead Tree - Perpetual Motion
