Rueter is the Kyle Lohse of the Giants rotation. A pitcher capable of pitching WAY better then they have of late. The managment for whatever reason still believe in him though. Jerome Williams looked good yesterday. He's got some potential. Thanks to a free preview weekend on MLB Season Ticket, I've actually been able to watch a couple of Giants games.
You must be happy with Smoltz's outing today 15 k's, unfortunately he got no run support.
It was nice to see the Giants playing small ball today. With no real power hitter that's what they're going to have to do until Bonds and Alou are back.
It still can't believe the Cards got killed two days in a row. The Philies aren't even that good of a team. I guess sometimes ya get lucky.

Yeah, that was a smokin' performance from Smoltz. I only got a chance to see the first 5 innings, but was pretty damn impressed. Then, we went to see Fever Pitch. Great flick.
Anyways, Pedro is nasty. Looking really solid. It's just pretty sad that he has to pitch a complete game for his team to win.
Tom Martin has no business pitching. God, i hate that guy.

Rueter? That geek with the big ears? He is NOT like Kyle Lohse. Kyle Lohse, at least, makes me cream my jeans.
Giants forced to play small ball, because all the players who have small balls (due to 'roids) are injured.
And don't say bad things about the Phillies! Brian (Bhuta, not Huebner) would not be happy!
The Aaaahj- 04-11-2005
While Reuter may not be as young and as "hot" as Kyle Loss, at least he looks like woody from Toy Story. He has had a similar last couple of seasons as Kyle Loss has. Without the unfotunate/appropriate manipulation of his last name.
You're right the Giants are forced to play small ball because of their injuries, but I don't think, nor care, that steroids had any thing to do with it.
If Hank Arron still wants Barry to break his record and is ok/tolerable to his alleged steroid use than why should I give a flying fuck in a rolling donut about it?
I never said anything bad about your cousins favorite team. I was suprised that they took/kicked the crap out of the Cards 2 games out of 3. On paper the Cards have a VASTLY superior team. The Phillies at best have a slightly above medoicre team. It's great to see a inferior team beat a better team. That's why they play 162 games rather that saying the Cards have the best lineup in the league so screw the season, let the Card play the Yankees in the WS and skip all the "meanigless" games.
Malmstorm!- 04-11-2005
These are the same Phils that dropped 2 of 3 against the Nationals. Go figger.
NaughtySailor- 04-12-2005
Considering that Kansas City has won 3 games (their predicted season total this year) I think anything can be expected.
WE ARE SITTING BEHIND HOME PLATE TONIGHT!~!!!!!!!!!!!!!! QWOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
NaughtySailor- 04-13-2005
Hello? Sports are going on. Does no one else care?
Twins won last night and are kicking ass tonight! Wooooo!
Malmstorm!- 04-13-2005
Still sulking in Kolb blowing the save for Hudson last night. Bah. Oh well, it happens. Moreso, i am irked that Tom Martin is still employed by the Braves. This guy blows. Send him back to LA for Lasorda. Or even Lasordas mom. I don't care. Good thing the Braves didn't give up much to get him last year, but still. Yes, there are still 153 more games to go. It's a long season....too soon to get worked up already.
WTF is up the Nats anyways? 2 out of 3 to both ATL and Philly? Jeebus. And they haven't even played at home yet. I like that team. If they had some better pitching, it wouldn't surprise me to see them contend. Their lineup with Wilkerson, Guillen, Vidro, Sledge are impressive. Throw in a few good nights from Castilla and (to a lesser extent) Guzman, you have some tough outs. Their bullpen looks more impressive than i remember. Good young arms in Ayala and Cordero. If anyone usurps the Braves, i sure hope it is them. If not, i'll go Florida any other day. It could happen this year...next....who knows. But this division is gonna be a fight this year. Yay!!!
Nice win by the Twins last night though! Kickin' ass tonight too. Johnson nailed the Twins the last time he faced the them, so it's good to see a healthy bunch of runs put up against him.
Off to watch SF/LA. I'm bummed though. I was hoping Jaret Wright would get shelled tonight. Turds!

Yeah, we were at that game. On the plus side, I got a free children's book.
And Tuesday night, we each got a free quarter and free ice cream. YEAH!

YAY!!! Tom Martin was in fact released by the Braves!
malmstorm@work- 04-15-2005
oops...that was me up there. Of course it was. Who else would give a shit about the Braves?
The Aaaahj- 04-15-2005
Well, Jay might, but I doubt he knows who Tom Martin is. He probably think he's related to Tony Martin.
Else think's it sad when everyone is making such a big deal about how Sheffield restrained himself. It's pretty bad when people expect you to go in the stands after a fan. This just reiterates what a 1st class jack ass he is. I;m guessing if the whole Artest thing hadn't happened earlier this year Sheff would be spending a good portion of the rest of the season at home.
NaughtySailor- 04-15-2005
All I have to say is, "Ted Williams would be rolling over in his freezer."
malmstorm@woik- 04-16-2005
I dunno, the whole thing is blown out of proportion w/ Sheff. From the replays it is just too hard for me to make a judgment. I believe it when Sheff says that he was hit in the face, but i don't think it was intentional either. Dude wasn't even looking in Sheff's direction. I think he just wanted the ball, that's all. Still, he shouldn't be leaning over like that. The ball was in play, dude, leave it alone!
NaughtySailor- 04-18-2005
So the Braves lost to the Phillies 1-0 in extra innings (the Phillies! I mean, really!)
But, nothing is worse than J.C. Romero BEANING in the winning run.
