Bands that should rock, but...

I just bought the new Arcturus(used price) and now I figured out why I think they're lame...Semen just doesn't know how to come up with good vocal melodies!
There's nothing you can really sing along with, hell I can sing along with Death or Enslaved more than Arcturus.
He's better than "Garm", but that's not saying much.

At least I can return it for store credit.

i am not a fan of the new arcturus cd dave, however i am a huge garm fan. and every other arcturus album rules!

besides, you voluntarily listen to nile!

I kind of have a similar outlook on pre-Dead Heart era Nevermore. I've always thought Warrel's melodies were laughingly overdramatic. Just sing the song, man!

i am the complete opposite. i am not as much of a fan of nevermore anymore because he doesn't do the wierd background melodys he did on the first record and on the "into the mirror black" SANCTUARY record.

SIGH and SOLEFALD used to be really cool, but the new records are B-O-R-I-N-G! or maybe i lost interest and their quirkiness is just not new to me anymore!

I think the quirkiness just isn't all that 'quirky' anymore. I agree with the new Solefald and Sigh records not being too exciting. I dig the Solefald, but wasn't too thrilled with the Sigh.

Sleepytime on the END! That is very weird.

I actually think that Nevermore were not that great until Enemies of Reality(remixed of course), and now they just plain rock!

YES, I do listen to Nile(the two newest cds) And Cryptopsy(with Lord Worm only) and Behemoth(just Demigod) and the last Necrophagist(what's wrong with being Necrophagy? she said necrophagist.) and Kataklysm(Temple of Knowledge)
The key with Nile(and Behemoth a little) for me is the Middle eastern feel, plus they used the same guiotar part from "well of souls" by Candlemass on the last cd.
The other bands are just insane, that's why.

I'm glad Brian can admit that the new Arcturus is crap, I didn't think you'd think that.

I finally heard the new Sigh album and all i can say id: WOW DOES IT SUCK! I could only make it through the first 2 songs. The vocals on the album are definetely in the top 100 most annoying of all time. Yes Dave, even more annoying the Lord Worm.
